Cundall Manor is situated in a magnificent 28-acre site in the vale of York, between Ripon and Thirsk. The school occupies a very accessible position, being close to the A1 and A168.
We are a thriving fully co-educational school which caters for children between the ages of 2 and 16 years of age. Boys and girls are thoroughly prepared for entry into a variety of senior schools and we have a good scholarship record. Much has changed in the last 20 years and continual improvements are being made to keep abreast of changing needs and increasing numbers.
The school boasts well-equipped classrooms and science laboratories, a 20-metre indoor heated swimming pool, a skateboard park, numerous rugby, football and hockey pitches as well as cricket nets and our famous tipis.
Early Years Nursery Practitioner – May 2026
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a creative and caring Early Years Practitioner to join our dynamic and supportive Nursery team. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of the EYFS curriculum and demonstrate excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
Reporting to the Head of The Pre-Preparatory School, you must hold (or be working towards) a Level 3 full and relevant EYFS qualification and be highly motivated, enthusiastic, and committed to providing high-quality of care and an inspiring education. A positive, nurturing attitude and a genuine passion for working with young children are essential along with excellent communication skills and the confidence to work autonomously as well as having a team-focused mindset and a positive, can-do attitude.
You will be someone who is not afraid to confidently sing (whether perfectly on pitch or not) in front of others, and happily get involved in messy outdoor play. You will join in with imaginative games, enjoy pretend tea parties, bringing joy and enthusiasm to every interaction. Most importantly, you’ll help create a welcoming, safe and inspiring environment where every child can flourish.

Teacher of Mathematics – September 2026
Cundall Manor School is an independent co-educational school for pupils aged 2-16, located in a beautiful rural landscape near the North Yorkshire moors. It has excellent transport links by road with York, Harrogate, Ripon and Thirsk.
We are looking for a highly able, innovative and enthusiastic Teacher of Mathematics to join our successful department on a part-time basis from September 2026.
The successful applicant will need to be an excellent classroom practitioner and have the ability to get the best possible results from small sets in an all through school.
The role is suitable for an ECT or experienced teacher who is keen to work in the independent sector.

Teacher of Modern Foreign Languages – September 2026
Cundall Manor School is seeking a talented, committed and enthusiastic Teacher of Spanish and French to join our industrious, visionary and forward thinking Modern Foreign Languages Department for September 2026.
Cundall Manor pupils begin to learn French in the Nursery and then both French and Spanish from Year 4. Both languages remain an attractive and popular choice with consistently excellent results at GCSE, and our we are committed to fostering a lifelong appreciation of languages and culture.
The post would suit an experienced teacher with very strong subject knowledge at GCSE Level and a demonstrable record of teaching Spanish to Key Stage 4 and French to at least Key Stage 3. The successful candidate will be enthusiastic and well qualified with a real love for language and culture along with the ability to convey this to pupils, as well as a natural empathy and pastoral instinct. The ability to motivate and inspire (both students and colleagues) is vital, as is being able to work as part of a strong team.

Part-Time KS2 Form Teacher – September 2026
Cundall Manor School is a thriving independent co-educational school for pupils aged 2–16, located in a beautiful rural setting near the North Yorkshire Moors, with excellent transport links to York, Harrogate, Ripon and Thirsk.
The opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, nurturing and inspirational KS2 Form Teacher with significant teaching skills and experience to join our Prep School from September 2026.
This is a part time teaching position which carries the expectation that the successful candidate will be in the classroom with their Form each morning and will demonstrate a significant experience in teaching Maths and English to a high level. The role will be initially offered on a fixed term one year basis, but will be reviewed toward the end of the academic year 2026/27.
The successful candidate will be an excellent classroom practitioner with significant experience of teaching across Key Stage 2 and a strong understanding of how children learn and flourish academically, socially and emotionally. A passion for delivering engaging and creative lessons, together with the ability to inspire high standards in pupils, is essential.
Candidates should demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, a warm and positive approach, and a willingness to contribute fully to the wider life of this busy and vibrant school community. An enthusiasm for creative arts, sport, outdoor learning and enrichment activities — including Wild Wood lessons — would be highly valued.
The role includes responsibilities as a Form Tutor, supporting the pastoral wellbeing and academic progress of pupils, and contributing to the school’s rich co-curricular programme, including Saturday Activities, educational visits and whole-school events.
