Rachel Powell
Rachel started her career as a buyer with Wm Morrison Supermarkets, rising rapidly to become Trading Manager with responsibility for a significant sector of the food business which she ran with a team of buyers. She left Morrisons in 2002 to spend more time with her then young family as well as running her own food marketing consultancy, helping clients at all levels of the food industry to develop their businesses. Since then she has also been involved in a number of project management and building development assignments.
Both of her children have enjoyed success at Cundall; Monty gained an academic scholarship to Harrow before going to Oxford University, and Archie achieved the honour of being Head Boy before joining his brother at Harrow and then on to Oxford University. Rachel is a very well-known and extremely approachable figure in the school having played prominent roles on the Friends of Cundall Manor and the Summer Ball committees for many years. She became a governor in 2016, taking on the key role of child safeguarding governor. She was appointed Chair of Governors in 2021.
Rachel has a degree in Agriculture and Food Marketing from Newcastle University.
