Cundall welcomed a leading artist to hold a uniquely rural masterclass in ceramic art.
We were delighted to welcome ceramic artist Jill Ford to the school to showcase a ceramics masterclass based on Highland cattle.
Head of Art, Sarah Pearson, said: “It was wonderful to welcome Jill to Cundall. Our older pupils have previously visited her workshop and seen her in action, so it was a wonderful opportunity for the rest of our pupils to benefit from Jill’s expertise.”
East Yorkshire based Jill, recently had her artwork on display at the Hepworth and has featured in a number of high profile ceramic exhibitions throughout the country.
Sarah added: “We have a lot of rural families at our school and the children loved attempting to replicate the Highland cattle’s famous coat in clay.”
“Thank you to Jill for coming into school and for hosting such a wonderful day of activities for our pupils.”
The artwork will now be fired in the school’s kiln before the finishing touches are added.
