Cundall perform well at National Championships

Cundall Manor School were strongly represented at this year’s National Schools Equestrian Association Championships. The team were competing in more classes than ever before across 2 days at Addington Manor, Buckinghamshire.
In the outdoor arena, classes included the Team Show Jumping with a technical timed section. In the indoor arena, the Cundall team competed in the Team Jumping with Style (JWS), a combination of show jumping and challenging cross country fences. The JWS had added entertainment as the riders had a commentator in the box to entertain the crowd.
There were lots of fast times and clear rounds and our highest placing was in the JWS 75cms Competition, where a team including Kate Sanderson, Jemima Tomlinson, Oliver Kitching and Amelia Bullock came a very respectable 12th out of 34 teams.
A special mention must go to Kate Sanderson on Roxy, who narrowly missed out on the jump off for the individual Show jumping, coming 10th overall. However, this did mean that she qualified to represent England in the Team Nations Cup in the indoor arena where the fences went up again. She went clear and got the fastest time, way to go Kate!
Well done to all team members, Zaila Barker, George Barker, Jemima Kitching, Venetia Thompson and Theo Thompson. And finally, a huge thank you to Lucy Sanderson who has managed the team brilliantly. We can’t thank you enough.
Good luck for the rest of the year.
