Flower arranging buds interest in youngsters
A masterclass in flower arranging from local business owner, Susie Hart, sparked an interest in the skill for budding florists at a leading North Yorkshire school.
The masterclass is all part of preparations for the 10 and 11 years old passing out parade as the Form 4 pupils enter the next stage of their education.
The group of over FORTY pupils were shown the basics of flower arranging and preparation and constructed a variety of table decorations for their event.
Stuart Bayne, Head of Forms 1-4 at Cundall Manor School, near Topcliffe, said: “It was a super event for our youngsters. A huge thank you to Susie for dedicating her time and effort to show our pupils just how much skill and thought is involved in flower arranging.”
He added: “All the children really enjoyed the masterclass. Everyone got involved and produced some fantastic creations.”
The passing out event will be the culmination of a series of events in which the pupils have learned more about etiquette, communication skills, manners, conversation and how to host an event and talk to adults.
The flower arrangements will take pride of place among the light refreshments at the event. Stuart added: “The children are really looking forward to showing off all they have learnt and would like to say thank you to everyone who has helped support them throughout the year.”
