Jenny, Amalia, Rebecca and ThomasCundall Manor School pupils, parents and staff are celebrating today following a fantastic set of GCSE results.

The school recorded a strong set of GCSE results including a 100% overall pass rate with 95% of students gaining 5 or more A*- C grades.

All of the school’s pupils also successfully secured their first choice of sixth form provider.

This follows on the back of last years’ superb results which saw the school ranked second in the county as part of the independent schools GCSE results league table.

There were overall excellent results in subjects such as History, Further Maths, Geography and Science which saw 100% of pupils achieving grade C or above.

Pupils have secured places at some of the county’s leading sixth form providers including Harrogate Grammar School, St Peters and Ripon Grammar School.

John Sample, Joint Head teacher at Cundall Manor School, said: “I am delighted that our pupils have achieved such a fantastic set of results. It is testament to how hard they have worked and their will to succeed. All our pupils should be very proud of their results and should be confident in their next steps knowing that what they have achieved and their preparation for life after school has been of the highest calibre.”

He added: “Today our GCSE results show that Cundall Manor is thriving. Our pupils leave us well-prepared for life after school and with a set of results that many would envy. We know that we have done everything we can to allow our pupils to leave us with the confidence to succeed but also many of the values of that we hold as a school, such as adventure, resilience and friendship.”

Among the school pupils celebrating their results was Rebecca Thompson who achieved straight A’s across the board with an impressive SEVEN A*s and FIVE As. Rebecca, from nearby Boroughbridge, will now be turning her attention to her A-Levels at Ripon Grammar School starting this September.

She said: “I was very nervous but I am so relieved to get the results I needed.”

Rebecca, who achieved A*s across the board in Biology, Physics and Chemistry, looks set to continue her quest to study Engineering at university following taking Chemistry, Physics, Maths and Art at A-Level.

Rebecca added: “The teachers at Cundall Manor work really hard and help support you throughout your time here.”

Another pupil celebrating a wonderful set of GCSE results is Cundall Manor’s Head Girl, Ellie Jolliffe, from Tadcaster, who secured her place at Harrogate Grammar School Sixth Form where she will study her A-Levels.Ellie

Ellie was awarded FOUR A*s, SIX As and THREE Bs in her results and will now prepare for her next steps. She said: “I am so happy and relieved it’s over.”

Ellie who plans on becoming a vet will now study her A-Levels in Biology, Chemistry, Maths and PE following her fantastic results.

She added: “The school really did help. Thank you to all my teachers for all the help and support over the past few years.”

Students will return to Cundall for the start of the term on the 7th of September and prospective parents are welcome to visit at the next Open Morning on Saturday 15th October from 10am.
