U13 and U11 Hockey Tour to Edinburgh

Accompanied by the indefatigable Mrs Walkland and hockey coach Jo, the U11 and U13 hockey girls enjoyed a wonderful tour to Edinburgh over the exeat weekend.
The two teams played Belhaven Hill School on the Saturday afternoon with wins of 6-0 and 5-1. On the Sunday at Loretto School both teams played well in the group matches and qualified for the semi-finals. They then won the semis and went through to the finals. The U11s played Fettes School (in front of a large group of supporting parents) and lost a hard fought match by 2-0. The U13s played St Mary’s School, a team that had beaten them in the group stages. At half time Cundall were losing 1-0 but showed far greater determination and aggression in the second half, scoring within two minutes of full time, followed by a second and final superb goal over the goalkeeper’s head by Connie Gill. The U13s were the tournament winners. Mrs Walkland complemented the girls on their conduct throughout the weekend “All the girls were extremely well behaved and polite, they were an absolute pleasure to take.”
