ENCOURAGING AMBITIOUS, CONFIDENT LEARNERS
Prep School: Years 3–6
At Cundall Prep, pupils in Years 3–6 thrive in a setting that balances academic challenge with personal growth. Surrounded by a strong sense of community and supported by passionate teachers, children are encouraged to be curious learners, kind classmates and authentic confident individuals.
SPECIALIST SUBJECT TEACHING
Academic Excellence
Our Prep School is centred around the heart of the Main School building. Each year group from Years 3 to 6 has its own dedicated Form Tutor and classroom space, ensuring tailored teaching and excellent pastoral care.
From Years 3 to 6, our pupils benefit from high-quality teaching across a full range of academic subjects. English, Mathematics, Science, Humanities and PSHE are taught within individual year groups by their Form Tutor, who also oversees each child’s pastoral care and personal development. This consistent relationship ensures that every pupil is known, supported and encouraged to meet their full potential.
Specialist teaching is introduced across the curriculum, with expert-led sessions in Music, Art, Drama, Languages, ICT and Outdoor Education. As pupils move through the Prep years, they engage with a wider range of subject specialists, developing independence, adaptability, and excellent communication skills. This carefully structured progression lays a strong foundation for success in the years ahead.
DYNAMIC TEACHING
Cundall Character Curriculum
Central to everything we do is the Cundall Character Curriculum — a unique framework that promotes resilience, creativity, compassion and curiosity.
These qualities are embedded in all aspects of Prep life, helping pupils develop the self-belief and social skills to express themselves with confidence and empathy. Beyond the classroom Prep pupils benefit from a rich programme of educational visits, social events, adventurous residentials and enrichment (after-school) clubs. From go-kart races and chocolate cake runs to axe throwing and teepee campouts, we believe learning should be fun, exciting and filled with opportunities to try something new. No two days are ever the same. These experiences help pupils build confidence, resilience and a lasting love of learning.
INCLUSIVE & COMPETITIVE
A Passion for Sport
Sport is a key element of Prep School life. Pupils enjoy six hours of games lessons per week and have the opportunity to participate in group sports with fixtures up to four times a week. All sessions are led by experienced sports coaches and take place on the school’s main sports fields and astroturf. Throughout the term, Prep pupils compete in inter-school competitions and county-level fixtures, developing teamwork, resilience, and school spirit. Parents are warmly invited to support these matches, both at home and away.
