Sarah was educated at Teesside High School before completing an IBA Higher Diploma in Business Management.
With eighteen years of service in North Yorkshire Police, she worked as a Detective in the Serious Crime Unit. Her role involved investigating a wide range of crimes, with a particular focus on interviewing children and vulnerable victims in cases related to sexual offences and safeguarding. She also played a key role in supporting victims and witnesses in high-profile cases.
A strong passion for safeguarding led Sarah to establish Go Wise Online, her own internet safety and safeguarding company, following her retirement from the police force. Through this initiative, she has worked extensively with both state and independent schools, including Cundall Manor School. Her workshops cover a variety of PSHCE topics, such as online safety, substance abuse, and consent, reaching students from Key Stage 1 to sixth form. Additionally, she has provided schools with guidance on safeguarding policies and multi-agency support.
Outside of her professional life, Sarah is a mother of three, with her youngest child attending Cundall Manor School.
Currently, she serves as the Development Manager for Ripon Cathedral, where she oversees grants, fundraising initiatives, and event management.
Her commitment to the community is evident through her involvement in various local projects. She has founded support groups, created social media pages for her village, and taken a leadership role in organising village music events. Additionally, she is an active member of the committee responsible for reviewing the allocation of 106 funding for the village.
